we have a new pope -

i also have a new blog -
more of yayam - where i'll put all my artworks and photos. not all of you may know but i also had several experiences in photography. it's a long story. people expected me to be like my
sister who brought the bacon home when she won 9th place (imagine winning among 124 other aspirant photographers!) in photo journalism in luzon. but instead, i went to cebu for the national conference for feature writing. i wasn't even trained. just a snap of a finger and i found myself with 12 other journalists, receiving our awards for the most outstanding journalists. would you even believe me if i told you that i had the ugliest presentation? we had to pass copies of our certificates and pictures and put it attractively on colored papers and pretty folders with drawing on it.
but i never wished to grab that award. in fact, i just passed photocopies of my certificates and ribbons and wrote an essay about my awards since grade 1. when i went to deped to pass my documents, i saw more than 30 folders - pretty ones with their pictures on the front page and also included pictures of their medals and stuff. why would i have to spend money anyway??
but i was amazed when i received the award; a trophy with my name embossed on it and a medal, too - lovely to my twelve-year-old eyes. i had the simplest costume coz we had to wear filipiniana. others had so thick make-up and i had none. and that's what differs me from all of the other journalists on stage.
i'm simple and that's what keeps me on winning.
