dumdidum
i thought i had lost my wallet. it contained EVERYTHING i needed for survival; my money, atm card and pictures. i would like to give my deepest gratitude to mrs. carol sarmiento for being so kind to give my wallet back. im never gonna bring large amounts of money in my wallet. ever. God is so good. the money that was in that wallet was for my birthday. and events come hastily like a series of fortunate events. my "picture-taking" crap and 2-year training on photojournalism with my sister finally paid off. i won 4th place in the division schools press conference. praise the Lord! i didnt care if im not the champion as long as i could enter the top 5. and i did. im going to the regional schools press conference. the second time was sweet. but it might be even sweeter the third time around.

i saw some of my friends in grade school who were part of the school publication back then with me and were actually winners in the regionals and even nationals. i knew they were going to be there. we loved joining presscons with maam lago (whose birthday is on oct.9), our moderator. first love never dies. and they won. not surprising. through the years, we've been trained to be the best journalists we can be. maam lago did a very good job. danilo and keenebee were first placers in their expertise. im so proud of them. and now that im united with them once more, i cannot possibly describe how im feeling right now. it's more than bliss.
joining the presscon wasnt easy for me. i wasnt part of the publication. i had to volunteer, which i did a day before the actual contest. i have found new friends for keeps.
tara, photojournalism english, xuhs. she didnt know a thing about instamatic cameras. she's used to digital cameras. and with no where to go and no idea what to do, she asked me for help. and because we were stuck in room no. 23 for more than 6 hours, nag-bonding kami. we talked and talked and talked about our lives. she won, too, and she's going to the regionals. for a first timer, not bad. really. she didnt even know how to load films. tara didn't expect to win but i guess as
jackie said, "ateneans are natural photographers." :) tara proved her right. she has the eye of a photographer. only a little training and she would be like a pro.
i guess this means i have to treat my friends. i got my wallet back. i won the presscons. what more could i ask for?
