bato, bato sa langit; ang tamaan, huwag magalit (ii)

things wont always go your way. somehow, some will agree and some will not. in a democratic place like our country, there will always be disapprovals in every decision. opinions will vary. and then we argue. to argue is not the only way. as what i have always remembered while watching the apprentice, to be a good manager, you have to make decisions quick. because time is valuable and you do not just spend it by voting over stuff you yourself cannot somehow decide. they are your subordinates anyway. you run the company. they follow.

and when one realizes that it was a bad decision, there should be no regrets. only lessons learned. and as we go on in our lives, we should not "go to the next level" but rather "progress." for as we are, we bring with us all the things we have learned since birth.

in times when a group or a community is in chaos, a leader must take its place, step up and make one big decision. a true leader knows what to do. a true leader knows what is best for the community. a true leader handles apprehensions calmly. in contrast, a person cannot be called a "leader" if he/she gets furious easily. because in that case, it will prevent others from sharing their opinions and suggestions. a true leader is not pikon. a true leader handles criticisms with confidence.

nevertheless, a true leader also trusts his/her subordinates. when one is too smart, turns out, he/she will think that his/her suggestion is even better than all the others. unless the leader's plan is REALLY even better, a leader cannot just reject someone's suggestion. far more than worse, a leader might reject one's suggestion before one has FULLY told his/her ideas. now that's not very healthy for a leader.

for a leader to gain the respect of others, one must respect the people first. and if you lose that respect, you also lose the trust.

someone i know is trying to be a leader that i thought she already was. but i think that she hasnt got the qualities. i may not be the right person to judge; i may not be as eloquent as she is; i may not be as smart as she is, but it shows. her qualities do not qualify that of a leader. though she can handle the class and she can get their attention easily (by shouting, that is), she gets agitated over small things. but she does handle the class very well...

the whole class know that she wants things done HER way. my classmates are afraid of her. i am too. im afraid that if i may speak up, i might get her more furious. and she might kill me.

please dont get mad at me. if ever you read this. i still want you to be my friend. i dont want any arguements between us. this is just plain business. :)

and now i leave the rest to God.
